Tokyo requested that Lebanon extradite five Japanese Red Army members wanted on international terrorism charges including the 1972 Lod airport attack in Tel Aviv, which saw 26 people murdered. Kozo Okamoto, 53, Masao Adachi, 61, Haruo Wako, 50, Kazuo Tohira, 46 and Mariko Yamamoto, 59, the only woman of the group, could face the death penalty if returned to Japan.
