Truong Quoc Viet, 35, was put to death by firing squad in Vietnam's central province of Lam Dong, a clerk at the Lam Dong People's Court said.
He was found guilty on February 21, 2003 of strangling and stabbing to death another man in the hill town of Dalat in November 2002 to steal his possessions.
