Twenty-one convicted criminals were executed in a single day in the in the central Chinese city of Chongqing.Among those executed were three men convicted of murdering 15 taxi drivers, whom they also robbed, and a four-member gang that specialized in assaulting women, nine of whom they killed. All 21 convicts were executed by a single pistol shot in the back of the neck, as is the preferred method of capital punishment in China, after their appeals were rejected by the local superior court.
