Two convicted armed robbers were publicly hanged in the western city of Khorramabad, the Persian daily Kayhan reported.
Mohammad Reza N. and Nureddin M. were sent to the gallows at one of the city's squares after pleading guilty to charges of armed robbery, banditry, and committing 'immoral and indecent acts', the paper added.
The executions were carried out after the state supreme court upheld their convictions of death, Kayhan said.
Iran carries out death for armed robbery, blasphemy, serious drug offences, rape and murder.
