Two Gabonese jurists, Patricia Muriel Ogandaga and barrister Bertrand Homa Moussavou, called for the abolition of death penalty in the country. "We hope that Gabon will make its position clear on the issue next December, during the UN session in New York," they said in a joint statement published by the pro-governmental L'Union Plus newspaper.
