two men, Sa’id Jamil ‘Abed Zuhud, 24, and Abdul Fatah Mohammed Sammour, 27, were killed in Gaza City. They were sentenced to death by the Court of Appeal on June 14, 2005, for raping and killing a child, Mayada Abu Lamdi, in 2003. Zuhud died of critical injuries sustained in the head on January 24 by unidentified individuals. He was transported to the al-Shifa' Hospital in Gaza city, where he died at a later time. Sammour sustained a bullet wound to the head. His dead body was located at the al-Shifa' Hospital.
