UAE: GULF SINGER SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING EX-HUSBAND

The Court of Appeals in Al-Ain upheld the death penalty in the murder case of Emirati poet and director Ahmed Al-Balooshi.
According to the case files, Ahmed Al-Balooshi’s former wife Badriya – a Gulf singer known as Budoor Al-Ain – plotted with her fiancé to murder her former husband, reported local Arabic dailyAl-Ittihad.
The incident occurred in 2014 when Ahmed Al-Balooshi visited social support centre in Al-Ain to meet his only daughter who was living with his former wife. However, he was not able to meet his daughter.
He was ran over by his former wife’s fiancé as he came out of the centre.
The former wife of the poet watched the scene while sitting in her car.
He had suffered critical injuries and had passed away a few hour later.
