the Fujairah Federal Court of Appeal commuted the death sentence awarded to a man to four years imprisonment after it found him innocent of drug peddling.
The jail sentence was awarded for consumption of drugs.
At the Fujairah Criminal Court, he was given a death penalty for possessing and peddling drugs. He was also sentenced to four years in jail for using the drug.
The man confessed to the police that the drugs belonged to him and he kept it to consume it.
His lawyers said that the drug seized from his possession was for personal use and not for sale.
