UGANDA: SOLDIER SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

the Uganda High Court sentenced a soldier to death for murder. Justice Mwangusya said the State had proved beyond reasonable doubt that Pvt Bob Magomu stabbed Cpl Robert Owatta, a warder at Masindi Prison in July, 2002. Owatta died of excessive bleeding at Masindi Hospital. The trial judge said the murder was intentional and that the accused deserved death.
