USA - Alabama. The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals ordered the conviction and death sentence be reinstated for Emanuel Gissendanner

The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals today ordered the capital murder conviction and death sentence be reinstated for Emanuel Gissendanner in Dale County. A lower court (see March 30, 2010) had ruled that he should get a new trial because of ineffective attorneys at trial. The appeals court reversed that in a 3-2 decision. Gissendanner was convicted in 2003 of killing Margaret Snellgrove during a kidnaping and robbery in 2001.
