USA - Alabama. The Senate passed HB 59 to expand the death-penalty

The Alabama Senate voted 27-0 an emended version of HB 59 to expand the state's death-penalty statute to make the killing of a first responder a capital offense. HB 59, now named “William Buechner Act” after a police officer recently killed in the line of duty, goes back to the House, where the previous version had passed on April 18 (see).
