USA - Arizona. A jury sentenced Stephen Douglas Reeves, 57, white, to death

A Maricopa County jury sentenced Stephen Douglas Reeves, 57, white, to death. He was convicted of 1st degree murder in the June 2007 killing of an 18-year-old woman, Norma Contreras. In addition to the death penalty, Reeves received an additional 42 years in prison on the armed robbery, burglary, kidnapping, and theft counts. Surveillance video showed Reeves dragging her through the office, beating her, and slitting her throat with a box cutter. After the verdict was announced, Judge Arthur Anderson formally sentenced Reeves to die.
