A Ventura County jury recommended the death penalty for Ricardo Villa, 35, who raped and killed Beatrice Bellis, 87, in her apartment in 1993. DNA tests in 2004 linked Villa to the killing. Judge Kevin McGee will sentence Villa on June 27.
