USA - Arizona. Court of Appeals overturnes death sentence of George Kayer

A split panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has overturned the death sentence imposed on death-row prisoner George Kayer, ruling that he was provided ineffective representation in the penalty phase of his capital trial. Kayer, now 64, White, was sentenced to death in Yavapai County on July 17, 1997 in the December 2, 1994 robbery and murder of Delbert L. Haas.
