USA - Arizona. Shawn Grell was sentenced to death today

Shawn Grell, 34, convicted of murdering his daughter, was sentenced to death today in Maricopa County Superior Court. This is the 2nd time Grell has received a death sentence in the December 1999 murder of 2-year-old Kristen Salem. On July 9, 2001 (see) a judge sentenced Grell to death. The death sentence was overturned on June 6, 2006 (see) after the Arizona Supreme Court decision that ruled juries and not judges shall determine if a defendant is sentenced to death.
