USA - California. A jury recommended death today for Gilbert Sanchez

A San Bernardino jury recommended death today for Gilbert Sanchez, 54, Hispanic. The man was convicted of raping and murdering 30-year-old Sylvia Galindo in 2001. The investigation went 'cold' for 5-years until a DNA match linked Sanchez to the murder. At the time, Sanchez was serving prison time in another case when he was charged. A judge will make the final decision on sentencing Sanchez at an upcoming hearing scheduled May 27 at the San Bernardino Justice Center.
