USA - California. A jury sentenced Jason Alejandro Aguirre to death

An Orange County jury sentenced Jason Alejandro Aguirre, 33, white, to death for the mistaken-identity murder of a 13-year-old boy. The same jury convicted gang leader Aguirre last month of the first-degree murder of Minh Cong Tran on Aug. 12, 2003, plus the special circumstances of committing a murder for the benefit of his gang. Superior Court Judge William Froeberg will be asked to confirm the jury's death recommendation Aug. 14.
