Italian time, after the counting of 86% of precincts, Proposition 62 which proposed the abolition of the death penalty is recording 3,639,787 votes in favor (46.11%) and 4,254,006 (53.89%) votes against. Proposition 66, which proposes to amend the procedures of death sentences in order to expedite the issuance of execution warrants, and would require prisoners on death row to work and pay restitution to victims' families is recording 3,850,313 (50.87%) votes in favor, and 3,718,819 (49.13%) votes against.
