USA - California. Judge Jean P. Leonard sentenced Roman Aldana to death

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Jean P. Leonard sentenced Roman Aldana to death for the Sept. 9, 2006 murder of Kayla Wood, 16. A jury made the recommendation on April 28 (see). Authorities say Aldana, 23, , hispanic, ordered the boys to kill Wood because he feared she was pregnant. One boy, now 18, was sentenced earlier this year to 29 years to life in prison. A 19-year-old got 23 years.
