USA - Florida. A jury has recommended that Joel Adrian Cruz be executed

A Pinellas-Pasco jury has recommended 10-2 that Joel Adrian Cruz be executed for killing his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter. Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Joseph Bulone who will decide whether to impose the sentence. Cruz, 29, Hispanic, repeatedly beat the girl, Ananhie Fernandez on May 5, 2013. According to police, he and his girlfriend, Karina Mora, brought Mora's daughter, Ananhie Fernandez, to the hospital in critical condition. The child had "severe injuries to the chest cavity and no independent brain function," police said.
