A Miami-Dade County jury recommended the death sentence for Victor Guzman, 39, hispanic. The jury voted 7-5 that Guzman be executed for the December 2000 slaying of 80-year-old Severina Dolores Fernandez. Ultimately, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy will sentence Guzman at a later date.
