Judge Elizabeth Senterfitt agreed with the June 14 jury's recommendation and sentenced Thomas Brown, 29, black, to death. In May, Brown was convicted of 1st degree murder for the shooting death of Juanese Miller, 22, black, in June 2009. A Duval County jury voted 7-5 in favor of the death penalty.
