Jurors recommended 7-5 the death penalty for Robert Earl Peterson, 45, for beating and shooting his stepfather Roy Bryan Andrews, 64, in 2005 because he had decided to cut him off after years of supporting him in the hopes that he would become self-sufficient. Peterson was convicted last month of 1st-degree murder. Circuit Judge L. Page Haddock hasn't scheduled a sentencing date.
