Oba Chandler, 65, white, has been executed. Chandler was convicted in 1994 of raping and killing 36-year-old Joan Rogers and her daughters, Christe and Michelle, who were 14 and 17, on June 1, 1989. Chandler becomes the 2nd condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Florida and the 71st overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1979. Chandler becomes the 41st condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1275th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
