Polk County judge Michael Hunter sentenced Leon Davis, 33, black, to death. A jury convicted Davis in February of three counts of first-degree murder, one for each woman and a third for one woman's prematurely born child. The same jurors voted that Davis should die (see Feb. 18). Prosecutors say Davis robbed a Lake Wales insurance office in December 2007. During the robbery, he poured gasoline over two employees -- 26-year-old Yvonne Bustamante and 23-year-old Juanita Luciano -- and set them on fire. Both died later from the burns, along with Luciano's newborn son. (see also Feb. 18).
