The Florida Supreme Court vacated the death sentence of Harrel Braddy, 68, Black, because it was not unanimous. On Oct. 16, 2007 (see), Circuit Judge Leonard E. Glick agreed with an Aug. 31 11-1 jury’s recommendation, and sentenced Braddy to death. Braddy, is accused of leaving a 5-year-old girl to be eaten alive by alligators in the Everglades. Braddy, 58, black, attacked Quatisha Maycock and her mother Shandelle, 22, both blacks, on Nov. 6, 1998. Quatisha was found floating in a canal near Alligator Alley with a fractured skull and one arm missing. Shandelle Maycock survived the attack.
