An Osage County jury has recommended the death penalty for Kraig Kahler, 48, white, in the slayings of 4 family members. The jury had convicted Kahler of 4 counts of 1st degree murder in the Nov. 28, 2009, killing of his 44-year-old wife Karen Kahler, their two teenage daughters, 18-year-old Emily and 16-year-old Lauren, and Karen Kahler’s grandmother Dorothy Wight, who was 89.
