USA - Louisiana. A jury sentenced LaMondre Tucker, 20, black, to death

A Caddo Parish jury unanimously sentenced LaMondre Tucker, 20, black, to death. A day earlier the same jurors convicted him of 1st degree murder in the September 2008 kidnapping and killing of his pregnant girlfriend. Tavia Sills went missing for several days. The then-18-year-old's body was later found in a pond. Another man, Demarcus Taylor, still awaits trial. Shortly after the decision was announced Alicia Tucker was arrested. She is the mother of Lamondre Tucker. The Caddo Sheriff's Office says she was taken into custody by deputies who served a warrant for jury tampering.
