USA - Mississippi. A jury imposed the death penalty on Jason Lee Keller

A Harrison County jury imposed the death penalty on Jason Lee Keller for the June 21, 2007 robbery and capital murder of 41-year-old Hat Nguyen. Circuit Judge Lisa Dodson allowed Keller, 30, white, to apologize to the family of Nguyen. Keller already is serving life without parole for the armed robbery of a bank and was sentenced as an habitual offender because of prior felony convictions. In an interview with Biloxi police, Keller admitted he shot and robbed Nguyen but said he didn’t mean for the bullets to strike her. Nguyen was shot four times. The final shot, to the back of her head, was fatal.
