March 5, 2025 - Mississippi. (SB 196) Senate Judiciary Committee passed SB 196 that would make statutory rape in the first degree and sexual trafficking of a child in the first degree death-eligible crimes. If enacted, it would only apply to offenses committed on or after August 28, 2025.
