USA - Missouri. Judge Gary Oxenhandler sentenced Michael Tisius to death
1 MIN READ
Boone County Circuit Judge Gary Oxenhandler sentenced Michael Tisius to death, upholding the July 14 (see) jury’s recommendation. Tisius, 29, white, had already been sentenced in 2001 for the June 22, 2000 deaths of Randolph County jailers Jason Acton and Leon Egley. The 2 men were killed after Tisius, 29, white, and the girlfriend of inmate Roy Vance unsuccessfully tried to free Vance. The death sentence (not the verdict) was later overturned, and in July a new St. Charles County jury decided again for the death penalty.
