The Senate Judiciary Committee recommended 3-2 the full Senate kill a repeal of the New Hampshire's death penalty law and instead proposed studying the issue after the 2010 election. The House voted last month to repeal capital punishment, but when the bill came before the Committee, members voted to completely rewrite it to create a 17-member commission to study all aspects of the death penalty. Gov. John Lynch has said he would veto the bill if it reached his desk in its original form.
