An Ohio federal district court (the United States District Court for the Southern District) has granted a new trial to death-row prisoner Genesis Hill. The court ruled that prosecutors unconstitutionally withheld exculpatory information and that Hill's evidence that he is actually innocent of the charges against him overcame his failure to bring the claim within the statutorily prescribed federal habeas corpus time limits. Hill was convicted of the May 31, 1991 murder of his sixmonth-old daughter Domika Dudley, and was sentenced to death in Hamilton County in 1992.
