USA - Ohio. A jury has recommended the death penalty for Joseph McAlpin

A Cuyahoga County jury has recommended the death penalty for Joseph McAlpin, 32, Black. The man was convicted of murdering a couple, Michael Kuznik, 47, and Trina Tomola, 46, during a robbery at their car dealership on March 11, 2017. Common Pleas Court Judge Brian Corrigan set formal sentencing for May 21. Jerome Diggs and Andrew Keener are also charged in connection with the double murder. Keener pleaded guilty and testified against McAlpin.
