A Warren County jury recommended Austin Myers, 19, White, be sentenced to death for his role in the Jan. 28, 2014 fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Justin Back. Judge Donald Oda II will have the final say on whether Myers will be sentenced to death. He will make his decision on Oct. 16. Myers and Timothy Mosley were convicted of killing Back. Mosley, also 19, pleaded guilty and testified against Myers in order to avoid the death penalty. Prosecutors said it was Myers' idea to kill Back and rob his parents' house because Myers thought there was a safe with $20,000 inside. According to court documents, both Mosley and Myers confessed to the murder. The jury's recommendation would make Myers the youngest person on Ohio's death row.
