A Wood County recommended the eath penalty for Calvin Neyland Jr.. Neyland, 44, black, has been given the sentence in the killing of Douglas Smith and Thomas Lazar, who were in the process of firing him when the shootings occurred in August of last year. It's the 1st death sentence recommendation in Wood County in two decades.
