Frederick Treesh, 48, was executed. Treesh was sentenced to die for killing Henry Dupree, a security guard, on Aug. 27, 1994. Prosecutors say Treesh and a co-defendant robbed banks and businesses, committed sexual assaults, stole cars, committed carjackings and shot someone to death in a Michigan robbery during a spree that also took them to Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Treesh's attorneys described him as a cocaine addict who was high during the robbery. Treesh becomes the 1st condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Ohio, the 50th overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1999, 4th to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1324th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
