USA - Ohio. Jason Getsy was executed
1 MIN READ
Jason Getsy, 33, was executed. He was the triggerman in the July 7, 1995 murder-for-hire scheme that killed Ann Serafino, a 66-year-old woman, and severely injured her son, Charles Serafino. John Santine, who orchestrated the crime, was in a dispute with Charles Serafino about ownership of a landscaping business and offered Getsy $5,000 to kill him and any witnesses to the crime. Santine was convicted of aggravated murder and sentenced to life. Charles Serafino was shot 7 times but survived and witnessed Getsy's execution. Getsy becomes the 4th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Ohio and the 32nd overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1999. Getsey becomes the 36th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1172nd overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
