USA - Ohio. John Fautenberry, 45, white, was executed

John Fautenberry, 45, white, was executed at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. Fautenberry was found guilty for the murder of Joseph Daron Jr, who gave him a ride while the former was hitchhiking in the year 1991.Earlier, Fautenberry had confessed of killing as many as four people in three other states namely, Alaska, Oregon and New Jersey. Fautenberry gave up his right to a trial by jury in Cincinnati and pleaded no contest on 23rd July 1992. Fautenberry was the 2nd condemned prisoner executed this year in Ohio, the 30th since Ohio resumed carrying out capital punishment in 1999, the 33rd condemned individual to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1169th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
