Reginald Brooks, 66, black, was executed. Brooks killed his 3 sons -- Niarchos, 11; Vaughn, 15; and Reginald Jr., 17 -- on March 6, 1982, while his wife, Beverly, was at work. He then boarded a bus for Las Vegas, leaving his wife to discover the bodies when she returned home that day. Brooks becomes the 5th condemned inmate in Ohio to be put to death this year, the 46th overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1999, the 40th inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1274th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
