A York County jury sentenced Aric Woodard, 40, Black, to death. Woodard was convicted Thursday of first-degree murder in the Nov. 7, 2011 beating death of 2-year-old Jaques Omari Twinn, the son of his new fiancée. Woodard admitted he did smack the child and pulled his ear when he soiled himself but denied beating him. Judge Michael Bortner set a formal sentencing hearing for Nov. 21.
