USA - South Carolina. Federal judge Bruce Howe Hendricks overturned the death sentence of James Bryant

A federal district court (Judge Bruce Howe Hendricks, United States District Court, District Of South Carolina, Aiken Division) has overturned the death sentence imposed on James Bryant in 2004 and ordered a new sentencing hearing based on the court's and counsel's failure to remove from the venire a juror who was functionally deaf and could not hear mitigation testimony.
