Jonathan Green, 44, black, was put to death. Green was condemned (see July 17, 2002) for the June 21, 2000, kidnapping, rape and murder of 12-year-old Christina LeAnn Neal, whose body was found at his home about a month after she was reported missing. Green becomes the 10th condemned inmate to be putt to death this year in Texas and the 487th overall since the state resumed capital punishment on december 7, 1982. Green becomes the 31st condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1308th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
