Wharton County jury decided the death sentence for James Garrett Freeman. Freeman, 27, white, has been sentenced for killing game warden Justin Hurst. Hurst, 34, was killed March 17, 2007, as he and 6 other officers closed in on Freeman after a 90-minute chase. The chase started when another game warden tried to stop Freeman to ticket him for illegally hunting an animal at night.
