Uzbek TV reported that the Uzbek Supreme Court sentenced the leader of a gang to death and four other members to long prison terms for multiple murders during a series of organized robberies

Uzbek TV reported that the Uzbek Supreme Court sentenced the leader of a gang to death and four other members to long prison terms for multiple murders during a series of organized robberies. The gang was found guilty of killing five people during robberies in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, and Almalyk, 40 km south of Tashkent, between 1992 and 2001. "The court sentenced Oleg Ryabinin to death, capital punishment; Sergey Viktorovich Kranin got 20 years in a maximum-security prison; Marina Yevgeniyevna Bukhartseva was sentenced to 15 years in prison; Dmitriy Yevgeniyevich Bychkov was sentenced to 16 years' imprisonment; and Oleg Yevgeniyevich Bychkov got 16 years in prison," the TV report said.
