Loc, 49, of Son La province, was sentenced to face a firing squad after being detained on December 9, 2004 while transporting 3.5kg of heroin from Son La to Hanoi. Loc's accomplice, Mui Van Uong, 41, also of Son La province, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
