VIETNAMESE MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

a court in Vietnam sentenced a man to death, and passed life sentences on three, and jail terms of 19-20 years on four others for trading and transporting a large volume of heroin in northern Lang Son province, according to local newspaper People. The provincial People's Court handed the death penalty to Ma Van Bao, a 35 year old man from Lang Son's Loc Binh district, and the life sentences to three other men aged between 28 and 38 from the same district. Bao alone supplied nearly 2.6 kg of heroin to the three men from April to August 2005.
