Vietnamese national Nguyen Van Hung, 28, was sentenced to death by a court in Ho Chi Minh City after was found guilty of stabbing to death Tran Dac Phong in October 2000 and stealing his motorcycle. Hung was arrested in 2003 after his accomplice, Doan Cong Hai, gave himself up to police in May 2002. Hai was sentenced to life imprisonment at the one-day trial.
