Vlastimil N, a 39-year-old Czech who was the main defendant in the trial of an international gang of kidnappers and murderers of lorry drivers, was sentenced to death by a court in Subotica. He was arrested in Belgrade in November 1999 and was found guilty of the murder of four lorry drivers, two of them Kosovo Albanians.
