William Quentin Jones, 34, was executed today

William Quentin Jones, 34, was executed today. He was pronounced dead at 2:16 a.m. after receiving an injection at Central Prison in Raleigh. A Wake County Superior Court had convicted him for the March 7, 1987 killing of Edward Peebles during a robbery. Jones becomes the 1st condemned inmate to be put to death this year in North Carolina and the 52nd this year in the USA.
